April 20th, 2006 Good Bye NE

We are leaving today...In a way happy because we are going home and most important we had a great hunt. We are also sad to be leaving our new found hunting spot and our Nebraska friends. Good Bye, Franklin!

April 19th, 2006 Mike M's Hunt

Mike M and I started out early again this AM. Mike M as the hunter and me as a scout on the Copely property. I stayed still as much as possible and used my ears to try to help. Mike went after the large Tom he saw last night and he did spot him again. Mike M tried to sneak and stalk the bird, but jumped him. Mike also knew where some other birds might be hanging out and decided to sneak towards that area. Mike was sucessful creeping through some cedar trees and spotting a group of hens and toms. Mike M was able to get a sucessful shot at a large gobbler. This last shot ends the hunt in Nebraska, both Mike and I got our limit on Rio Grande turkeys.
